The questions people ask before they hand over a key.
If your question is not here, send it. A direct answer costs me nothing and saves us both a booking that would not have worked.
Which areas of Luxembourg do you cover?
I work in Luxembourg City and the communes immediately around it: Kirchberg, Belair, Limpertsberg, Merl, Cessange, Gasperich, Hollerich, Bonnevoie, Strassen, Bertrange, Howald, Hesperange and Contern.
If you are slightly outside this area, message me anyway. I will tell you honestly whether I can keep the schedule reliable, and I will say no if I cannot.
How does the first booking work?
Every new client starts with a free meet & greet at your home, usually 30 to 45 minutes. We go through your dog's routine, feeding, health, recall, triggers and walking habits, and your dog meets me without any pressure.
Nothing is booked at that meeting. You decide afterwards, in your own time.
Will the same person always come?
Yes. PAWLY is a personal service, not an agency with a rotating pool of walkers. The person your dog meets at the first visit is the person who comes every time.
How do you handle my keys?
Keys are collected against a signed key handover form that records the number of keys, the date and the purpose. They are kept separately from your name and address, labelled only with a code.
You can ask for your keys back at any time and they are returned within 48 hours.
What updates do I get during the day?
A short written report and photos after every single visit, sent by WhatsApp. The report covers the route, how your dog behaved, toilet breaks, food and water, and anything I noticed that you should know about.
Where does my dog sleep during overnight care?
In your home, in their own bed, with their own smells and their own routine. I stay overnight at your address.
There is no kennel, no transport and no unfamiliar house. For most dogs this is by far the least stressful option when you travel.
Do you walk dogs in groups?
No. All walks are individual, or with dogs from the same household. Your dog gets the full duration and my full attention, and there is no exposure to unknown dogs.
What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?
I contact you immediately. If you cannot be reached and the situation is urgent, I take your dog to your own vet, or to the nearest available emergency clinic if yours is closed.
Your vet's details and your written authorisation are collected at the meet & greet, so no time is lost. Veterinary costs remain the owner's responsibility.
Can you give medication?
Yes, for oral medication and topical treatments, at no extra charge, provided the instructions are written down and the dosage is prepared by you. I do not administer injections.
How far in advance should I book?
For regular walks, a week's notice lets me build a stable schedule. For overnight and holiday care, book as early as you can: school holidays, Christmas and August fill up first.
Last-minute requests are welcome and often possible, with a supplement of €10 for anything confirmed less than 24 hours ahead.
What is your cancellation policy?
Free of charge more than 24 hours before the service. 50% of the fee between 12 and 24 hours. 100% under 12 hours.
For overnight and holiday bookings, free of charge more than 14 days before the start date, 50% between 3 and 14 days, 100% under 3 days.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes. Sundays and Luxembourg public holidays carry a €12 supplement per service.
What if my dog is reactive or anxious?
Tell me at the meet & greet and be specific. Many anxious dogs do very well with a quiet, predictable routine and the same handler every time.
I will not take on a dog with a history of biting people. That is not a judgement on your dog, it is a limit I keep for everyone's safety, and I will say so directly rather than take the booking and hope.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer. Single services are invoiced at the end of each week, monthly packages at the start of the month, and overnight or holiday bookings with a 30% deposit at confirmation and the balance on the last day.
